Jane Iredale brushes have been designed specifically for Jane Iredale makeup in order to produce the best effect from our micronized mineral powders. Jane Iredale brushes have been designed to be as effective and as gentle on the skin as possible. They are hand-tied and are made of the best materials available.
The natural hair used in these brushes is obtained from living animals. Kabuki Brush uses goat hair, Oval Blender Brush uses pony hair. No animal is killed to make Jane Iredale brushes. The hair is a secondary item generally obtained from combing or brushing. The hair then undergoes several chemical-cleansing processes so that it is sterile enough to be used on the skin.
Jane Iredale's synthetic brushes are made from Toray, Tylon and Taklon (nylon). These are designed to be used with cream-based products. Nylon prevents the product from sticking to the fibers, allowing for easy transference and blending. Nylon is also durable and easy to clean.
